The latest round of meeting between the ASUU team and Federal government negotiating team came with some promising development.
Although, university students were expecting a better news but as it stands now, it's sooner rather than later before the strike would be eventually called off, because impressive progress was recorded in this latest meeting which was not the case in other previous meetings.
Below are brief details of what was agreed between both parties.
• The federal government of Nigeria has agreed to pay 30 billion naira basically for academic allowance, which would be paid in batches between may 2021-Febrary 2022.
•The sum of 20 billion naira will be invested on the revitalization of the educational sector of the country.
For now, these are the agreement reached by the two negotiating teams, and the next round of meeting is slated for incoming week Monday.
Summarily, both parties are edging closer to finally reaching a compromise that would enable the month long strike to be call off for good.
