IMSU Former Student Leader Identifies With Udochukwu Dickson On His Birthday

Former IMSU SUG director of Information and Mbaitolu Chairmanship aspirant ahead of the local government election in the state, Hon. Chidi Onyeji has on Wednesday 30th May praised the doggedness, generosity and diligence of Hon. Udochukwu Dickson, the organiser of Prince Madumere's fans club.


The astute comrade described Udochukuwu as a blessing to human race maintaining that the world needs people of his kind to be a great place.


In his birthday message to Hon. Ugochukwu, Chidi remarked that Hon. Udochukwu's rising political profile is a testimony to his generosity and doggedness, the same qualities that has given him all-round success as a student politician in IMSU.

Mountain Of Fire Campus Church Holds Prayer Meeting Conference In IMSU


The mountain of fire and miracles ministry of Imo state university will host a special prayer meeting conference tagged "IN THE SECRET PLACE OF THE MOST HIGH".


Pastor Kachi, Minister Emmanuel Ndubuisi, Minister Kay, Minister Truimph Emma among other anointed Apostles of God will minister at the event. You can come along with your prayer request.


The 1-day programme will hold on Wednesday May 30th at Faculty of Education Large Hall, Imo state university. Time for the program is 2PM.


Students Drag UNIPORT VC To Court


Students of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) have dragged their Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ndowa Lale, to a Federal High Court, in Port Harcourt, over their suspension as a result of non-payment of tuition fees.

The students (names withheld), through their counsel, Ameghua Lazina, explained to newsmen that the clients could not be suspended or demoted as result of nonpayment of tuition fees, which ought to have been paid within a specified time

Ameghua said the students had chosen to express their fundamental rights by challenging the draconian policy of the institution.

The counsel described the students’ suspension as a ‘draconian policy, which is inconsistent with laws, regulations, acts and status of the university.

Ameghua said: Ordinarily, the matter today, is for mention, but the defendant did not appear today, for the matter.

Ukawuilu Chinedu Works On Outweighing The Negatives With Charitable Work


Comrade Ukawuilu Chinedu a former student leader in Imo state university and a strategist is set to out weigh hunger, poverty and cry of the needy through the launch of his care Foundation. His past is certainly controversial, the rising star is working hard to change people's negative perception of Life and that starts with his new initiative of 'Ukawuilu Chinedu Helping Hands Foundation' (UCHHF). 


In a series of Facebook posts, Ukawuilu announced the arrival of the foundation which is structured on assisting the orphans, empowering young people to improve their lives and building peace in Imo State.


The foundation will be mobilising young people and other stakeholders to embrace peace in the rural communities of the state.


The goals of the foundation according to the rising star, Cmrd. Ukawuilu is to Ensure self-reliance among  youths, Create awareness on peace building and conflict, Train and advise youths in matters of civic participation.


Others include to Sensitize and create awareness on good governance and Empower the community to support and encourage education of children,

Lend a helping hand to widows, mothers and children to through vocational skills and assist their education at school.



IMSU Graduate Killed by Naval Officer; Accused Of Being A Cultist.

 
A graduate of Imo State University (IMSU) and a serving Corps Member Amadi Princewill Chukwuemeka (aka Sleek) has been shot dead by a Naval officer in Imo State and accused of being a cultist.

According to the information sent from many sources to us, Sleek was shot dead in his hometown (Awaka) in Imo state for no apparent reason other than the tendency of the Nigerian security forces to believe that they have the power to take life at random.

In another move, it is rumored that the officer responsible for this unlawful killing is using his influence and position as a naval officer to cover up the crime.


IMSU Former Vice Chancellor Joins Race For Orlu Senatorial Seat

The former Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof. Ukachukwu Awuzie is set to join Race for Orlu Senatorial Seat come 2019.

Professor Awuzie announced his readiness to contest the 2019 Orlu Zone senate under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) at the Orlu LGA APGA Secretariat recently.

Awuzie, who was also, national chairman of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) said he chose to vie for the senate seat under the platform of a political party which manifestoes were drawn as effective response to the challenges and realities on ground in Nigerian nation, the wireless team learnt.

IMSU: St. Joseph Chaplaincy Choir Launches Album - "My Story".


Imo State University Gospel outfit St. Joseph chaplaincy, weekend Sunday, May 27th, launched their first music album titled "My Story".


The album carries 11 worship songs that include "As I look up to the cross", "My Story", "Ababa Nna", "Yahwah", "Olisa", "I go enter his court" and "Gbadata" among others.


Gospel music fans thronged the campus church venue to witness live performances by St. Joseph gospel choir.


Not only were they singing whole-heartedly, they even made some unique dance moves, totally unique in the choral music industry.


Had it been a competition, St. Joseph's choir could have given their competitors a run for their money, the wireless informant reports as St. Joseph choir did not disappoint, they defied all the odds to prove that they were a force to reckon with.

Imo College of Education holds matriculation, 31st May

The IMO State College of Education, Ihitte Uboma ( IMSCED) will on Thursday 31st of May 2018 hold its first matriculation ceremony.

The event which will take place at the college premises by 10Am prompt is under the distinguished Chairmanship of Hon. Prof Mrs Florence C. Emenalo, the Honorable Commissioner, Tertiary and Non formal Education in IMO state.

According to the Press release signed by the ag Provost , Dr Chris N. Osuegbu and the ag. Registrar , Mr . Emmanuel Nwosu, the visitor of the college, owelle Rocha’s Okorocha OON , the executive Governor of IMO state is expected to grace this epoch making ceremony.

Other distinguished personalities include , Ugwumba Uche Nwosu, special guest of honour , Dr paschal Obi, Hon Chief Mrs Uche Ejiogu, Hon Lawman Duruji, and Mr J. C. Obasi were the distinguished guests of honour.

The royal fathers of the day are HRH Eze Innocent Onuoha and HRH Eze L.I Ihekwueme.

Alleged Anti-Party Activities: APC to suspend Okorocha, others

Reports reaching us from close Party sources indicate that the major reason bringing the trouble to the governor is his floating a parallel state executive led by the Owerri Zonal Chairman of the party, Hon Chris Oguoma.

The action which set out to create confusion in the state was considered anti-party. The governor was faulted for taking the action in view of his full knowledge of the various Congress elections which threw up a new leadership in the state.

The source disclosed further that the governor having ran to President Muhammadu Buhari, (PMB) and approached the National Working Committee (NWC) and the Appeals Panel should have waited for the outcome of his protest before taking laws into his hand. This was adjudged to be against the spirit of sportsmanship.

The governor was also condemned for going against the advice of Chief John Oyegun, the National Chairman of APC who allegedly had earlier advised the use of due process in resolving any disagreement in the party. It was also learnt that Oyegun in one instance also advised harmonization which the governor rebuffed.

A second argument necessitating the big hammer to fall on the governor stemmed from his authorization of the sale of forms for the Local Government elections through the wrong people (the Oguoma led exco).
It was considered that the life of the party is in jeopardy as elections conducted risks being voided or nullified because it was done through wrong executives. According to the source, there is no position like Acting Chairman in the constitution of the party.

We further gathered as a third issue, that Owelle Rochas Okorocha has in the previous attempts to conduct Local Government elections sold forms twice. No election was conducted in the efforts.

This was seen as creating image problem for the Party thereby de-marketing it in the eyes of the opposition and well-meaning citizens. It is considered fraudulent as much as it makes the party a laughing stock.

Political watchers observe that given the emerging developments, the party’s chances at the polls grows dimmer as the oppositions are likely to cash in on the situation to take them to the cleaners. Some argue that the party would never be the same again by the time it has weathered the storms.
