IMSU 2017 Cultural Day Celebrated In Grand Style

It was all fun at Imo state university on Wednesday 6th December, when “Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo” IMSU Chapter marked their Cultural Day.

Decked in trendy traditional attire and colorful beads, the students under the aegis of “Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, IMSU Chapter” thronged the university front gate, venue of the programme. The students expressed themselves in dance, songs and other activities related to Igbo tradition.


The event anchored by IMSU Spontaneous and fast raising Micro-phone lord MC Badmouth da Evangelist and Mc Chukwuebuka Stanley Surface, was organized to showcase the cultural heritage of Igbo.



It was graced by many members of the Igbo traditional community, including chief Angel opara (Deputy youth leader Ohanaeze Ndi Igbo, Imo State).



Others were the chairman of the occasion, Ambassador Ezechi Chukwu, Engr. Tony Opara (Diaspora Igbo Union U.S.A), Chief (Mrs.) Nneoma Ukpali (Chairman Actors guild of Nigeria), Professor Nwachukwu M.I (Head of Micro-biology Department), Cmrd. Franklin Capacity Ugochukwu (Student Union President), Cmrd. Danny Walter Muonuagha (Education Faculty President), Chukwudi Akwarandu (Baron of IMSU), Imsu Elijah among others.


The president of the association, His Royal Highness Obiefula Chiebuka, in his address, expressed gratitude to God for making the day a reality. He said since his tenure started, he had built confidence of members. He said his strength and leadership ability would set the association on progressive pace after his tenure.

The Head of Microbiology Department, Professor Nwachukwu, in his speech emphasized the need for students to unite and promote Igbo language and culture wherever they may be. According to him, Igbo culture remains one of the richest.

He urged lecturers to always instill morals and good values to students, saying such would discourage anti-social behavior and make them to think about their future.





The highlight of the occasion included the presentation of award to some of the guests and bestowing of chieftain title.

With words of gratitude still ringing in the ears of visitors and students, IMSU 2017 cultural day finally ended in all its glory, Imsu Elijah Observed.
