Monkey Pox: Bayelsa Residents Now Avoid Handshake

Reports reaching Imsu Elijah (Elitism6.com) from bayelsa state confirms that residents of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, are now avoiding handshakes and body contact in public places following the recent outbreak of monkeypox diseases which has infected many people including a medical doctor in bayelsa state.

The name implies, the virus was first seen in monkeys but can also be found in all bush animals such as rats, squirrels and antelopes, hence our surveillance on edible animals has to be heightened Bayelsa state commissioner for health said.
