Hope for pensioners as Two bills sponsored by Hon. Nzeruo John Nkenna scales through first reading at IMHA

Today, 3rd day of October, 2017, the member representing Oru-east state constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly proved himself again as a people oriented legislator as two bills he sponsored passed through first reading in the hallowed chambers of the State Assembly.

One of the bills touches on the fabric of Igbo cosmology as it hopes to stem the tide of alienation treatment meted out on certain categories of Igbo people who are referred to as the Osu or outcasts.

A Bill for a Law to Abolish Osu Caste System in Imo State and other matters connected thereto sponsored by Hon. Nkenna Nzeruo, which went through first reading, today, will when passed into law completely obliterate every trace of such ill-treatment, which exists even among some so-called Christians.

Another very important bill which seeks to safe guard the resources allotted to those who have given their time and energy in serving the state, also passed through first reading today.

A Bill for a Law to Prohibit Sharp Practices in the Management of Pension Scheme, thereby providing Stiffened Punishment to Culprits in the Unlawful Act and other matters connected thereto sponsored by Hon. Nkenna Nzeruo, which went through first reading will when passed into law ensure that pension funds are no longer diverted no ghost names infused into the list to bloat it and make it difficult to manage.
