Crouched in darkness, we await the limpid light. But it’s taking eternity or might never come. In its stead are the terrific sounds of the drums from the distance, drumbeats of trepidation. Its sounds are carrying with it drums of plagues. They inflict nothing but immense horror; drumbeats of trepidation. They evoke a poignant image of uncertainty, of war. Our hearts are pounding and the sounds are approaching. Mothers sit gloomily near cold fireplaces, children cluster in utmost fright. We should get ready to dance to the drumbeats, to trepidation, to fear, since we want to.
